城市科学与规划分实验中心(Centre for Urban Science and Planning – CUSP)基于教育部生态城市设计国际合作联合实验室的科研平台,旨在探索正在涌现的城市科学理论与方法论,应对国际定量城市研究多学科交叉的前沿议题,注重城市新规律的发现及其在城乡规划与设计实践中的先锋性应用。
CUSP由沈尧博士任主任,吴志强院士与Michael Batty 院士领衔指导,分别担任名誉主任与首席科学家,结合国际和国内在相关领域的最前沿学者,目前CUSP的研究网络涵盖国际领先的诸多研究机构,如UCL CASA, The Alan Turing Institute (ATI), UCL Geography, Kings’ College, IC, DUSP MIT, CNRS, Delft 等等。
截至目前,CUSP的核心团队成员接近20人,并计划逐年根据前沿领域不断扩展核心研究网络成员。CUSP关注城市科学的重要理论和方法,及其在当代城市设计中的应用,以回应城市规划与设计、城市治理、未来城市中的基础议题。其中将涉及城市几何学(Urban Geometry);城市社会物理学 (Urban Scoial Physics);城市模型(Urban Modelling);信息学(Urban Informatics)等。
Centre for Urban Science and Planning (CUSP) is based on the research platform of the Ministry of Education’s Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation on Ecological Urban Design, and aims to explore the emerging theories and methodologies in urban science, address the cutting-edge issues at the intersection of international quantitative urban research, and focus on the discovery of new urban laws and their pioneering applications in urban and rural planning and design practice.
CUSP is directed by Dr Shen Yao, with academicians Wu Zhiqiang and Michael Batty as Honorary Director and Chief Scientist respectively, and a network of leading international and national scholars in related fields, including UCL CASA, The Alan Turing Institute (ATI), UCL Geography, Kings’ College, IC, DUSP MIT, CNRS, Delft and many more.
CUSP has a core team of nearly 20 members to date, with plans to expand the core research network each year in line with cutting-edge areas, and focuses on key theories and methods in urban science and their application to contemporary urban design in response to fundamental issues in urban planning and design, urban governance, and future cities. It will cover Urban Geometry, Urban Scoial Physics, Urban Modelling and Urban Informatics.
